Nick Herron has over 35 years building and construction industry experience, and along with David Coorey is a founding Director of Herron Coorey. He is a past President of the Queensland Master Builders Association (QMBA), member of the QMBA Construction Sector Committee, QMBA Electoral College, and former Board Member of Master Builders Australia.
Passionate about the betterment of the Construction Industry, Nick is also a director of Construction Industry Protection Limited (CIPS), The Building Employees Redundancy Trust (BERT), Building Employees Welfare Trust (BEWT) and the Queensland Construction Training Fund (QCTF). Nick is also a Board Director of Brigidine College at Indooroopilly, St Vincent de Paul Housing, a member of the Queensland Chapter of the Australian Catholic University and is a Vice President of the St Vincent de Paul Society of Queensland.
Nick Herron and David Coorey established Herron Coorey Building Contractors in 2003.
Its core business derives from the construction of buildings that owners intend to operate from, with individual project values up to $35m. With a focus on commercial construction and medium sized non-residential construction, Herron Coorey is also responsible for the construction of a considerable number of projects within the education sector, having built over 250 schools in the last two decades. Experience includes the development of a number of private residences, and extends to hotels, shop fit-outs and commercial renovations.
Herron Coorey has an impeccable reputation for acting with integrity in all relationships, and completing projects on time and on budget.
Nick was honoured to receive a Life Membership of the Queensland Master Builders Association in 2024.
Outside of work, Nick spends much of his leisure time riding Motorcycles. He is also involved in a number of community and charitable initiatives. One of seven construction industry professionals who make up an ownership consortium of the Hidden Creek Winery in Ballandean, Nick is also a proud Vincentian operating out of the Rosalie Parish and also participates in the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout. He is a member of the St Vincent de Paul Society Major Projects Committee and QPCG Committes charged with delivering over 500 new dwellings over 5 years, and is a bad but enthusiastic surfer which he blames on a dodgy knee that refuses to properly mend following decades of repeated mishaps on rollerblades, skateboards, snowski’s, motorcycles and the football field.
