OVERVIEW
Herron Coorey tendered and were selected to construct Duchesne College, an all-women’s residential college located at the University of Queensland’s St Lucia campus.
HOW WE HELPED
Herron Coorey took possession of a greenfield site area and commenced earthworks and foundation setup before extensive concrete, formwork and brick & blockwork was conducted to establish the structure.
The facility was fitted with student accommodation rooms, study areas, dining room, chapel, laundry, gym & music rooms to ensure the students have all the creature comforts and more whilst living away from home on campus.
Herron Coorey worked with architects Ferrier Baudet and the structural engineers at Cardno Alexander Browne to deliver the University’s vision of its college whilst other areas of the campus remained operational throughout the duration of the construction process.
The project was finished on-programme in 38 weeks with a total project value of $6 million.
