OVERVIEW
Herron Coorey was engaged to transform a century-old, disused timber mill factory into a 2,600sqm food, drink and wellness precinct, a thriving home to 10 small businesses.
HOW WE HELPED
With this project being our first to suffer from several COVID-19 lockdowns and regulations, it created a unique challenge for Herron Coorey. However we worked tirelessly with our client, James Rennell, to deliver a bespoke facility that is now a popular landmark within the Albion community.
This project was engaged upon a cost-plus contract, and its completion was valued at $4.83m. As a result of lockdowns, it took a duration of 57 weeks, and was finished in 2020.
Herron Coorey was joined by the architects at Conrad Gargett, and the structural engineers at Optimum Structures to revive a retired mill, converting it into a new hub for local business.
AWARDS
The Craft’d Grounds design won the “John Dalton Building of the Year” Award at the 2023 AIA Architecture Awards.
A massive achievement for all those involved in this project.
